From Crazy Chaotic to Super Cool (boy's room makeover)

new year means new organization and refreshed decor at my house.  Last year I shared some of the changes I made to Cameron's room to transform her space from messy to marvelous.  Well, now it's Jordy's turn.

Throughout this post I'll share a few easy makeover ideas which helped to totally transform this room.  

 

Mirror, Mirror

I

love a good bargain and an equally good makeover project.  I recently got the best of both after finding this wonderful mirror at a local antique/thrift shop.

 

Clean, Crisp and Clutterfree

he title of this post may seem a bit misleading because the room in the photo below is anything but clean, crisp and clutter-free.

This is how Cameron's room looked not long ago after we first purged her closet of everything unwanted and outgrown. 

She was also packing for an end-of-summer trip so the timing was ideal to tackle a room makeover.

 

Pitch Perfect Pillows

ow many times have you looked at a piece of furniture and wanted to give it a new look?  That's how I felt about this off-white sofa.

While re-upholstery would be ideal, I opted for an easier (and less expensive) solution with a quick pillow makeover.   

         

At Home with Books

ook in just about any corner of my house and you'll likely find books, lots of books. 

They're everywhere.  In my family room...

Dressform Makeover Magic

I love miniature dressforms.  They're good for simple decoration on a dresser or as you can see in the photo below, for holding and displaying jewelry.

This wire dressform is one of my favorites in my small collection.

  

Roaring Ruffles

Who doesn't love a good makeover?  I love to transform items from an original state to an unexpected and different state altogether.   

Whether it's old dresses, picture frames, out-dated ironing boards or (in this case) an old sweater. 

It's always fun to create a new look for something old.

The Year In Review

Happy New Year!  Hard to believe we're already into a brand new year. 

Before embarking on the next 12-months of colorful crafts, projects, quilts and occasional recipes, I thought it would be fun to share a quick recap of the year that was.

Pretty in Pink

If you're like me you can never get enough of a great apron project.

I love the look of my latest apron with its sheer fabric and complimentary crisp, pink cotton.  It's a perfect combination of soft textures and subtle color.

What's Old is New Again

When I first considered posting this project I wondered if anyone would really be all that interested in an ironing board cover.  I mean really, how sexy are ironing board covers?  Not very.

My reluctance to share this topic eventually gave way to my desire to share another example of how new life can be breathed into an old object, making it look better than ever before.
